  1. What is the SureID Certified Edge solution?

    SureID Certified Edge is a leading high-assurance identity solution offered by SureID, Inc. that validates the identity and authenticity of third-party vendors, contractors and suppliers as well as coaches, volunteers and general consumers. The program identity proofs and screens each individual certifying that a person is who he or she claims to be.

  2. As an individual vendor, contractor, volunteer, coach, or general consumer, why should I purchase a SureID Certified Edge credential?

    Given identity theft is so pervasive, a SureID Certified Edge credential allows you to manage and control your own identity. It includes, for an additional fee, a thorough background screen and quarterly recurring background screenings.

  4. What is the value of the Certified Edge background screen?

    A background screen may be required by a vendor company or nonprofit organization where you perform services. A thorough background screen is an additional step to give a company or organization confidence that your identity has been verified and you pose a lower risk to the vulnerable populations they serve, or their systems and sensitive data.

  5. What if I miss a monthly payment? Will my credential be deactivated?

    Your credential is valid for five years total. However, the recurring background screenings are an added attribute to the credential, and may be discontinued. Your credential will no longer be in an active status displaying this attribute.

  6. What methods of payment does SureID accept?

    SureID accepts most major credit cards and personal checks from volunteers, coaches and general consumers.

    Vendor, suppliers and contractor companies are billed directly.

  7. What if I fail the background screen? Is there a waiver process?

    If an individual does not “pass” the background screen, that individual will not be qualified to participate in the SureID program. There is no ‘waiver’ process or system overrides. However, each individual will receive a copy of his/her report and be provided steps to dispute findings that are incomplete or incorrect.

  8. If an individual does not pass the background screen or vetting process, can a refund be issued?

    Refunds are not provided by SureID if an individual fails a background screen or is ineligible for the program.

    If you are a volunteer, coach or consumer, your identity will remain verified, but the Certified Edge attribute will no longer display when scanned by the mobile app.

    If you are a participant in the Certified Edge for vendors program, you will no longer be eligible to participate in the program.

  9. What is the cost of the SureID Certified Edge program? How often will my company be billed?

    Vendor companies pay a one-time charge of only $29.95 per individual for the credential, with a recurring background screening fee of $4.95 per month per individual.

    Coaches and volunteers pay a one-time introductory rate of only $19.95 for the credential, with recurring service fees of $4.95 per month.

  10. How much does a replacement credential cost? When will I need to replace my credential?

    A replacement credential is $9.95. A credential will need to be replaced in the event it is lost or damaged.

  11. How do I register for the program?

    Vendor Company Employees:

    You will receive registration information from your SureID Company Administrator (SCA) that will include a URL to pre-register for the SureID Certified Edge program. Once you have completed the pre-registration process, you can go to a registration station to complete your registration.

    Coaches, Volunteers, Consumers:

    An individual registers online and receives QR code and instructions for next steps.

    Registration is completed onsite with the individual providing biographic (e.g. DOB, SSN) and biometric (e.g. fingerprints) information, as well documents to verify identity.

  12. My registration code is not working. What do I do?

    If your registration code is not working while at the registration station, please first try to pull your information up using your first and last name. If that does not work, try scanning the barcode using the SureID mobile app. If you are still unable to complete your registration, please contact your SureID Company Administrator to verify the information you have is correct.

  14. If registration was denied because valid identity documentation was not provided, will the individual be required to re-register for the program?

    The individual can upload new documentation to the portal or can return to a SureID Registration Station located here to upload new documentation.

  15. My employee needs to update their information (e.g. name, DOB, SSN). Must he or she re-register for the program?

    Yes, the individual will be required to re-register for the program once again.

  16. I’m a SureID Company Administrator and I can’t access the program management portal. What should I do next?

    First verify you are accessing the correct browser. The portal currently supports the latest versions of the following browsers: Safari, Chrome, MS Edge and Internet Explorer. Please note that at this time, Firefox is not a supported browser.

  17. I am a SureID Company Administrator and once I login or link to the portal or attempt to link my smart card, I am unable to gain access. What should I do next?

    There may be an issue with your access permissions to the portal. Check to make sure your smart card is linked by viewing your profile in the portal. Simply click on “Name” in the upper left corner of the portal and then on “Profile”.

    Check the functionality of the card reader.

    Verify that you are using a credential issued through SureID.
