SureID provides high-assurance identity solutions to critical infrastructure facilities with the same technology our partners in the Department of Defense rely on.
The Government Facilities Sector includes a wide variety of buildings, located in the United States and overseas, that are owned or leased by federal, state, local, and tribal governments. Many government facilities are open to the public while others are not as they contain highly sensitive information, materials, processes, and equipment. These facilities include:
In addition to physical structures, the sector includes cyber elements that contribute to the protection of sector assets (e.g., access control systems and closed-circuit television systems) as well as individuals who perform essential functions or possess tactical, operational, or strategic knowledge. Securing these facilities from internal and outside threats is of key importance to American national security.
The Government Facilities Sector-Specific Plan details a risk management framework for each critical infrastructure sector. Each sector has a unique set of characteristics and risk landscape through identity assurance and physical access control systems (PACS).
Each sector develops a sector-specific plan through a coordinated effort involving its public and private sector partners and both the Department of Homeland Security and the General Services Administration are designated as the Co-Sector-Specific Agencies for the Government Facilities Sector.
SureID provides high-assurance identity solutions that provide personnel surety to the variety of facilities throughout the government facilities sector. As the identity leader in the Personal Identity Verification – Interoperable (PIV-I) credentialing process, SureID brings the world’s best identity assurance processes to any high-security facility.
Alongside our partners in the Department of Defense, SureID has issued more than 200,000 PIV-I credentials to vendors, contractors, suppliers, and other third parties that require both physical and logical access into military installations. SureID’s rigorous PIV-I identity standards meet and exceed the PPD-21 requirements mandate, and all government facilities sector facilities can rely on the same multifactor authentication identity solutions that the Department of Defense uses every day.
SureID, Inc. is a U.S. federal government-approved level of assurance 4 (LOA4) identity provider for PIV-I credentials, which is the highest assurance level as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Trusted by the U.S. military for over a decade, SureID is the leading PIV-I issuer in the nation with more than 190,000 credentials issued to date.
