SureID provides high-assurance identity solutions to critical infrastructure facilities with the same technology our partners in the Department of Defense rely on.
The Emergency Services Sector (ESS) provide a wide range of prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery services in both day-to-day operations and incident response. The ESS includes geographically-diverse facilities and equipment in both paid and volunteer capacities organized primarily at the federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial levels of government. From city police and fire departments, county sheriff’s offices, Department of Defense police and fire departments, and town public works departments, the security of the ESS requires a flexible, interoperable identity solution that confirms that employees and volunteers will keep the public safe.
The mission of the Emergency Services Sector is to save lives, protect property and the environment, assist communities impacted by disasters, and aid recovery during emergencies.
Five distinct disciplines compose the ESS, encompassing a wide range of emergency response functions and roles:
The Emergency Services Sector-Specific Plan details a risk management framework for each critical infrastructure sector. Each sector has a unique set of characteristics and risk landscape through identity assurance and physical access control systems (PACS) that are universal throughout. Each sector-specific agency develops a sector-specific plan through a coordinated effort involving its public and private sector partners.
The ESS has dependencies and interdependencies with multiple critical infrastructure sectors and the National Response Framework’s Emergency Support Functions, which provide assistance for both the operation and protection of ESS assets.
SureID provides high-assurance identity solutions that provide personnel surety to the variety of facilities throughout the emergency services sector. As the identity leader in the Personal Identity Verification – Interoperable (PIV-I) credentialing process, SureID brings the world’s best identity assurance processes to any high-security facility.
Alongside our partners in the Department of Defense, SureID has issued more than 200,000 PIV-I credentials to vendors, contractors, suppliers, and other third parties that require both physical and logical access into military installations. SureID’s rigorous PIV-I identity standards meet and exceed the PPD-21 requirements mandate, and all emergency services sector facilities can rely on the same multifactor authentication identity solutions that the Department of Defense uses every day.
SureID, Inc. is a U.S. federal government-approved level of assurance 4 (LOA4) identity provider for PIV-I credentials, which is the highest assurance level as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
